Cunningly hidden away in a release schedule in the mounds of Ubisoft press releases, was the 'announcement' of Just Dance: Summer Party. With not much information to go on beyond a title, and an interest in Just Dance, we donned our deer-stalkers, grabbed our magnifying glass and did a bit of sleuthing.
Looking at a box art we found, it looks like the upcoming game's set to boast '20+ tracks' and features Katy Perry's 'Firework', 'American Boy' by Estelle & Kanye West, 'Pon De Replay' by Rhianna and the song 'Maniac', as well as 'Here Comes The Hotstepper' of Raving Rabbid fame - all of which may sound more than a little familiar if you've ever frequented the Just Dance 2 online store. From what we can tell, it seems that Just Dance: Summer Party may simply be a collection of the various downloadable tracks, which would give you this list of 25 songs:
- M People - Moving On Up
- Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life
- Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen
- Blur - Song 2
- The Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love
- Love Letter - Why Oh Why
- Estelle feat. Kanye West - American Boy
- Tom Jones - It's Not Unusual
- Sweat Invaders - Skin-To-Skin
- Santa Clones - Crazy Christmas
- Panic At The Disco - Nine In The Afternoon
- Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of Monika)
- Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting (Dave Ruffy/Mark Wallis Remix)
- A Band Of Bees - Chicken Payback
- VV Brown - Crying Blood
- The World Cup Girls - Futebol Crazy
- The Reverend Horatio Duncan & Amos Sweets - Down By The Riverside
- Studio Allstars - Maniac
- Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild

- M/A/R/R/S - Pump Up The Volume
- Countdown Dee's Hit Explosion - Barbie Girl
- Katy Perry - Firework
- The Hit Crew - Here Comes The Hotstepper
A downloadable song collection would probably would make sense - compared to the original games 32 songs, and the sequel's 44 tracks, 25 seems a bit pitiful if it was to be a full release - and with Just Dance 3 around the corner, they're unlikely to be releasing another full game. It's not uncommon for downloadable content discs to pop up on the Wii either, as companies find people buy fewer download on the Wii - some studies have even suggested that nearly half of Wiis aren't even connected to the internet. The afore-mentioned release schedule gave Just Dance: Summer Party a US release date of 19th July - meaning, if previous releases are anything to go by, we should get it a couple of days later. In the mean time, stay tuned, as we're sure to get more news in the next few weeks - maybe even a definite setlist!
