Ah, privacy policies. Don't you just love 'em? Let's start in the same way everyone else does, then.
Here at Outcyders, the privacy of our visitors is of important.
This privacy policy outlines the types of personal information received and collected by Outcyders, and how they are used.
During your time browsing the site, we (Outcyders), personally, collect very little data from you. In fact, we just store the one cookie - called, cunningly enough, Outcyders.
This tiny cookie only contains the information we need to deliver the site. Initially, we only store whether you've clicked to use the site and have given us cookie consent. If you browse to an article page that has a video on, we'll store a record of whether you want the videos to autoplay or not. If you play a quiz, we'll make a temporary log of your score and level. If you browse to a page that has an affiliate link on it (which is pretty much any article/quiz), we'll add a record of which country we think you're browsing from.
Exciting stuff, right?
A few things we use on the site also insist on setting their own cookies. For example, if you choose to log in with Facebook when doing a quiz, we'll create a cookie to say that you've logged in, and save you from being prompted to log in each and every time you use the site.
We've also started dabbling in something called the Facebook Pixel and Facebook Custom Audiences. Essentially, this means that if you've visited the website, or logged in to play a quiz, you may occasionally see an ad for us pop up in your Facebook feed, notifying you of our newest quizzes, or what have you. We don't receive any identifiable data from this, and literally simply use it for the chance to show you (hopefully) relevant ads on Facebook in the hope you'll come back. You can opt out of this by following the instructions here.
From time to time, you may also have the chance to submit personal data to Outcyders, (such as your name, email address and contact details) - for example, when participating in a competition, or subscribing to a newsletter.
Outcyders will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.
Outcyders will not sell, exchange, or otherwise release your personal information to any third parties without your express consent.
If you do not wish for Outcyders to use cookies when you access the site, you can disable cookies in your browser, although this may affect your experience on the website. You can also try using a browser that blocks third party cookies (which is basically anything we, Outcyders, don't set ourselves), with more and more browsers going down this route at the moment - although again, we can't promise everything will stay working properly, as we haven't tested for it. For more information on disabling cookies, please consult your browser's help file.
