Game Pack 008 is packed full of retro-goodness this week, bringing with it 10 new games to add to your arcade. This week, the games are from the Atari 2600, including some classic Activision games and 5 Intellivision games.
3D Tic-Tac-Toe
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
The traditional game of Tic-Tac-Toe is taken to a whole new (more complicated and confusing) level - because it's now in 3D. Or, at least, the best 3D games could manage in 1980. Players need to make a line vertically, horizontally or diagonally, either on one grid, or spread over all 4 grids.
Beamrider
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
In this scrolling shooter, pilot the Beamrider ship above the Earth's atmosphere to destroy the alien restrictor shield, that's been placed around the Earth, by destroying the alien ships that are released by it.
Centipede
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Everyone knows centipedes are evil - and that's what the insect world's main bad guy became the star of its own game in 1980. In Centipede, the player must destroy the evil centipede as it makes its way down the screen, through the field of mushrooms. If the centipede hits a mushroom, it'll change direction, causing all sorts of trouble for those of us without the best analogue skills. Shooting at the centipede breaks it up - creating lots of mini-centipedes, and leaving another mushroom in it's wake. Just try not to collide with the centipede - or you'll end up as fodder for the many-legged beastie.
Cosmic Commuter
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Cosmic Commuter is a fun, fast paced shooter, in which you must dodge or destroy obstacles, pick up passengers and take them to Grand Central Space Station - all whilst trying not to run out of fuel.
Dodge 'Em
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Drive round the roads avoiding the other cars intent on colliding with you head on, whilst trying to collect all the dots to finish the level.
Dolphin
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Dolphin is a unique game where you must use your ears as well as your eyes - your dolphin emits sonar sounds which tell you whether you should swim up or down. Higher pitches mean you should swim up, and lower pitches down. Help your dolphin avoid squids and bad currents (which will hinder your progress), whilst trying to find the good currents.
Dragster
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
One of the shortest games ever produced, in Dragster you must get your car over the finish before your opponent. You need to rev and shift your way to victory - but watch out - rev too much and your engine will blow, and you'll be out of the race, with a steep medical bill to boot.
Hockey
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Intellivision's Hockey does exactly what it says on the tin - it's a simple game of ice hockey you can play with friends. Up to 8 people can play in 4 on 4 matches.
Super Pro Decathlon
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Super Pro Decathlon contains all 10 decathlon events - the 100 metre dash, hurdles, long jump, high jump, pole vault, discuss, shot put, javelin, triple jump and 400 metre run. Compete with up to 4 friends to see who's the best athlete.
Thin Ice
Price: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.00)
Thin Ice features a fun loving penguin that enjoys dunking others in frozen lakes. Skate around the others on the frozen lake, cutting the ice with your skates. When you complete a shape, the ice breaks and your opponent falls into the water.
