Alien invasions for cheap

Xbox Live Deal of the Week (30/08/2010)

Alien invasions for cheap
30th August, 2010 By Sarah Morris

The people at Xbox seem to enjoy coming up with 'themes' for the deals of the week - whether it be 'movie mania', or just all sorts of stuff relating to one particular game, they all seem to fit loosely into a theme. Recently, anyway. This week is no different, with lots of things with aliens in seeing their prices slashed, except maybe Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition, although the things in that certainly look strange enough to class as aliens in my book...

Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition Screenshot

Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition - 33% Off

Was: 1200 Microsoft Points (about £10.00)

Now: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)

In the bizarre land of Zenozoik, the city of Halstedom is ruled by a powerful clan - the leader of which you, playing as Ghat, have killed. To escape the clan's wrath, you must fight your way through your former brothers and sisters, as well as other random crazy people to find out the truth. See what we thought of this in our review.

Alien vs. Predator: Swarm Map Pack - 29% Off

Was: 560 Microsoft Points (about £4.67)

Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)

This map pack contains four new maps for Alien vs. Predator for playing online, if you like that sort of thing. They include: Docks, where horror lurks in the deep at Weyland-Yutani's abandoned dock yard and Outpost, where BG-386's (we assume this is a planet) voracious plant wild life have taken over, creating the perfect hunting ground for all sorts of 'friendly' creatures. There are also two survival-based maps, where you battle against hoards of aliens - in Hive, deep in the heart of Freya's prospect is a Xenomorph hive, and Machine, where an abandoned refinery may not be as abandoned as you first thought...

Alien Breed Evolution: Episode 1 Screenshot

Alien Breed Evolution: Episode 1 - 50% Off

Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)

Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)

A top down shooter in which your ship, the Leopold, is on a collision course with a mysterious ghost ship, which cause millions of aliens - or 'breed' - are coming aboard. Play either on your own as Conrad, as you try to rid the ship of the invaders and save your own life, or play in co-op with a friend as Barnes and Vance as you try to locate Conrad, the commander of the Leopold.

Galaga Legions Screenshot

Galaga Legions - 50% Off

Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)

Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)

The classic arcade game Galaga has been reinvented - pilot your ship through waves and waves of suicidal aliens who like nothing better than running into the side of your ship and making it explode. And even if it does suffer from green overload, it can still be quite fun to play - even if i do die by the third level.
