Today, Capcom have finally released their prequel to the upcoming game Dead Rising 2 - Dead Rising 2: Case Zero will be available on the Xbox Live Arcade for a miniscule 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33) - that's less than your average arcade game.
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero will introduce you to Chuck, your main man for Dead Rising 2, and his daughter Katey, who has been infected with zombie-itus. Chuck has all the luck, as not only is his daughter infected, but they're also trapped in the zombie-infested desert town of Still Creek. Taking on the role Chuck, a protective parent with his back against the wall, you're tasked with finding something called the 'Zombrex' to save your daughter from becoming one of the undead, as well as trying to escape from the town of Still Water.
As with the original Dead Rising, you can use pretty much everything you come across to beat back the zombie hordes - from the obvious guns and chainsaws, to the more unusual and creative things like books and shopping trolleys. With an entire town as your playground, there are plenty of weird and wonderful objects you can come across, and put to good use - and you can even make your own weapons, which lets you strap a pair of chainsaws to either end of a boat oar - or whatever else takes your fancy.
But the Dead Rising series isn't your average mega-violent, super-scary affair, as it has a sense of humour - and one it's proud of. You can dress Chuck in various outfits - even a pink, frilly, ladies dress. And you can have him ride round on a little girls' pink bicycle - it's hard to be scared when you're too busy laughing at how ridiculous he looks.
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, the prequel to Dead Rising 2 is out now for download on the Xbox Live Arcade for 400 Microsoft Points, or around £3.33.
