Your Shape: Fitness Evolved is a fitness game for the Wii U, which comes packed with over 125 different workouts, routines and activities, ranging from dancing and yoga to strength training and kickboxing. Using a combination of the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remotes, players copy an on-screen instructor as they're put through their paces in a series of sweat-inducing workouts.
Your Shape isn't a game designed with children in mind - when setting up your profile, the minimum age you can enter is twelve, and it's impossible to go below a weight of around 40 kg (around 6 stone), meaning youngsters would have to trick their way in. Not that it phenomenally matters what your profile says though, as unlike Wii Fit, weigh-ins aren't an integral part of the game - the most important thing to consider is whether your child will be able to keep up with the on screen instructor, as some of the exercises and routines are a bit on the complex side. If they're really desperate for a fitness game, it's probably a better choice than Wii Fit, who's balance board can't detect below a certain weight, but it's still by no means a perfect one for kids.
Much like Wii Fit, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013 is a game centred around keeping fit and healthy, not decapitating zombies and swearing like a trooper. As such, there's nothing remotely questionable inside - just exercises galore.
