Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 is a fitness game for the Xbox 360 that requires the Kinect sensor. Scanning you into the game, you'll take part in one of a number of exercises, activities, and games, designed to get you fit and in shape. Much less serious and stressful than last year's game, Your Shape 2012 feels a lot more welcoming to newcomers, with a choice of exercises ranging from two minute, few repetition warm ups, to 30 minute plus marathons that'll have sweat dripping from places you didn't know you could even sweat.
With a range of exercises on offer, from skipping, to jogging, to African dancing, to yoga, to bootcamps, to more traditional workouts involving push-ups, squats, crunches and more, there's plenty of variety on offer here, with a much more welcoming feel in general for exercising newcomers, helping you ease yourself into a regular routine.
In terms of family appeal though, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved is aimed much more squarely at the adult market, from late twenties up. Younger children and teens would likely be better served for their fitness purposes by Wii Fit +, or a dancing game, like Just Dance 3, which gets their muscles moving and bodies working in a much more fun-focused environment than here.
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 is completely free of anything parents should be concerned about in terms of questionable content - there's no swearing, violence, gore, or sex. There is a lot of exercise though.
While Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 does support four player multiplayer (taking it in turns) we wouldn't recommend it for family play. Something like Wii Fit +, or Just Dance would be much more suited for families to exercise with together.
