After last week's atrocious Deal of the Week (a load of pointless avatar attire, anyone?), things are starting to look up a bit, with two consecutive weeks of Zombie-themed arcade games, add-ons and yet more avatar clothes discounted. Here's this week's selection:
Left 4 Dead: Crash Course (Add-On)
Was: 560 Microsoft Points (about £4.76)
Now: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.04)
Shortly after the events of the 'No Mercy' campaign, the four survivors' helicopter crash lands, leaving them to make their way to a truck depot, where they can use an armoured truck to escape. You and up to three friends will need to fight your way through the zombie hoards over 2 levels to your freedom - and for just 240 points, this is pretty good value.
Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing (Add-On)
Was: 560 Microsoft Points (about £4.76)
Now: 240 Microsoft Points (about £2.04)
The three survivors from the original Left 4 Dead make an appearance in this add-on, and you'll get to find out what happened to them in the time between the end of the first Left 4 Dead game and this one. This add-on features 3 zombie-filled levels for you and up to three friends to fight your way through.
Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned (Add-On)
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.40)
The Jackobs Corporation invites you to the corporate-owned small town of Jackobs Cove, where there are definitely no zombies roaming the streets whatsoever. If you do happen to chance upon one of the undead, you'll need to purchase a gun from the conveniently placed Jackobs Brand vending machines and do what needs to be done.
The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.40)
Captured by cyborgs, but rescued by his mentor, the Chef, the Dishwasher was given 'alien blood' to resurrect him - a by-product of which was giving him special powers. His quest is simple: destroy the head of the cyborg army to avenge his sister's death and save the world in a side-scrolling, and grizzly hack and slash game.
Zombie Apocalypse
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.40)
Get ready to take on wave upon wave of, yep, you guessed it, zombies, as you try to rescue as many survivors as you can from the hoards of undead. With a wide range of weapons, and plenty of environmental hazards to trip the zombies up on, there are plenty of options at your disposal - all you have to do is survive...
Zombie Mask
Was: 160 Microsoft Points (about £1.36)
Now: 80 Microsoft Points (about £0.68)
Now you can make your avatar wear a mask that'll make them look like one of the zombies from Borderlands' 'The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned'. Amazing.
Zombie
Was: 320 Microsoft Points (about £2.72)
Now: 160 Microsoft Points (about £1.36)
Or maybe you'd prefer to spend your actual money on a virtual zombie doll for your virtual avatar to hold. Whatever floats your boat.
Microsoft's Deal of the Week is only for Xbox Live Gold subscribers - Silver members will not be able to take advantage of the discounted prices.Approximate value of Microsoft points in pounds is based on buying the points direct from Microsoft through the Xbox dashboard.
