They're at it again - the folks behind We Sing, the Wii's best karaoke series by far, seem to have a thing for announcing their setlists in inventive ways. For We Sing: Encore, the songs were announced through a strange game of hangman via Twitter, while this time, for We Sing: Rock, they're doing something on a bit of a grander scale - involving members of the public and some questionable vocal talents.
Every day this (working) week, We Sing will post three videos on their Facebook page with random members of the public humming part of a song - and it's up to you to try to guess which song they're humming along to. Get it right, and you'll have figured out one of the forty songs included on the game. The Facebook fans with the most correct guesses by the end of the week will be entered into a draw to win one of three copies of the game and a pair of microphones. The sharp ones among you will have noticed that that only adds up to fifteen - so what about the remaining thirty five? They'll all be revealed on the 23rd September, along with a release date in the coming weeks.
If, like me, you've always found Karaoke games a bit too pop-orientated, and can normally only find a handful of songs that don't end up grating on your nerves, then We Sing: Rock is a welcome addition - hopefully featuring songs more akin to those on Rock Band than on Lips or Singstar. To top it all off, the game's set to feature the now-standard We Sing range of multiplayer modes - from standard versus and co-operative modes to ones where the backing track and lyrics disappear at random, it's sure to get more than a giggle or two at parties.
With a whopping three We Sing games out this year - We Sing: UK Hits, We Sing: Rock and We Sing: Pop - it seems Nordic games is doing it's best to appeal to all tastes. And if singing isn't your thing, maybe you'd prefer their foray into the world of dancing games, the recently reviewed We Dance. Whatever you do, though, don't forget to keep checking back, as we'll have the results of this week's setlist reveal - and the complete setlist to follow.
