For the past few weeks, publishers Nordic Games have been encouraging us to roll up the leg warmers, break out the big hair, and get in touch with our spandex side as we approach the launch of We Sing: 80s, the latest karaoke game to hit the Wii. Having teased us for weeks by drip feeding news of new songs via their Facebook page, the lid's now been well and truly blown off with the reveal of the full complement of thirty songs:
- Blondie - The Tide is High
- Sabrina - The Boys (Summertime Love)
- Culture Club - Do You Really Want to Hurt Me
- The Bangles - Eternal Flame
- T'Pau - China in Your Hand
- Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen
- Duran Duran - Rio
- Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now
- Queen - I Want to Break Free
- Toto - Africa
- Frankie Goes to Hollywood - The Power of Love
- Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
- The Human League - Don't You Want Me
- Sade - Smooth Operator
- Lionel Ritchie - All Night Long (All Night)
- Cameo - Word Up!
- Tears for Fears - Shout
- Yazoo - Only You
- Lisa Stansfield - All Around the World
- Paula Abdul - Straight Up
- Simple Minds - Alive and Kicking
- Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
- Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky
- Spandau Ballet - True
- Musical Youth - Pass the Dutchie
- Yazz and the Plastic Population - The Only Way Is Up
- DeBarge - Rhythm of the Night
- Smokey Robinson - Being With You
- Roxette - The Look
With another decent mix of kitsch 80s cheese, and more serious crooners, We Sing 80s is looking to be yet another game that delivers something for everyone. With simple, pick-up-and-play gameplay, and a full compliment of multiplayer modes for up to four players, from the easy (We Sing mode, that lets you and your friends co-operate for the best score), to the sadistic (Blind mode, which gets rid of the lyrics and pitch bars, leaving you singing on your own) We Sing 80s is designed to make parties start with a bang - especially seeing as the track list has plenty of songs that even the most nervous of singers won't be able to resist.
You'll be able to delve back into the cheese of years gone by for yourself when We Sing 80s hits the shops on the 28th of September - be sure to check back soon for a full review!
