Rumours are rife around the interweb at the moment that the latest game in the strategic military shooter, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will support Microsoft's motion sensing camera, Project Natal.
Apparently it may work by using the gamepad in your left hand, while using your right hand to direct actions onscreen, and give orders to your troops.
Rather than going down the route of simply making every game entirely gesture based mini-game collection, this is exactly the sort of thing we were hoping to see from Natal - adding extra depth to a normal game, through gesture and motion controls. Imagine ducking the bullets, and your character doing it in game - holding your hand in a fist to stop your squad - or pointing at a building, and watching as your characters storm it. You won't have to remember any complex button presses, and won't have fiddle with aiming to get your reticle in the right place, so you can press the right button combination to get your soldiers to move - just point, and they'll go, naturally.
If the rumours are true, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier will be one of the first titles to make use of Project Natal, if its release date for the end of this year stays on track.
As with everything at the moment, all eyes will be pointing at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, this June. We'll keep our ears to the ground. Move out!
