Yo, homies! Have we got some phat shizzle fo' you! Game pimper Echo Peak and Snoop To Tha D-O-Double-Gizzle are stoked to announce a smokin' rhythm-action combat game fo' download on tha Microsizzle's Xbox 360 and Sony's Playshizzle 3. Way of tha Dogg takes you all up in Snoopz reincarnation as Snoop Lion, beatin' up all manner of thugs wit button presses to tha beat of his crazy-ass most ghettofab tunes. Fo' shizzle, my nizzle.
And we're back. For those of you who don't speak gangsta, the basic gist of the paragraph above is that Snoop Lion (the Pokemon-style evolution of Snoop Dogg, it seems) is set to return to his canine roots, for the "first true gamification" of his music in the form of a bizarre hybrid of a rhythm-action and beat 'em up game, which will also help shed light on his recent 'reincarnation' as Snoop Lion. Each level has you playing as the Dogg, brawling with some roughneck or other to the beat of one of his songs, pressing buttons and wiggling analogue sticks to match the prompts that appear on screen - kind of like Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy for the 3DS, or Elite Beat Agents, if that means anything to anyone. Each stage is interspersed with cutscenes inspired by the 1970s kung-fu and 'blaxploitation' films too - genres which Mr. Lion is apparently particularly fond of.
Way of the Dogg is set to hit the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network later this year, and while no official date has been announced, the game is planned to tie in with the release of his new album and film REINCARNATED, which are due out on the 23rd of April and 15th of March respectively - so we'd imagine the game's release is fairly imminent too. Until then, why not take a look at some behind the scenes footage of Snoop Lion during the recordings for the game:
