Full We Sing: Pop Setlist Announced

Thirty poptastic tunes grace the latest instalment of the Wii karaoke franchise

Full We Sing Pop Setlist Announced
22nd March, 2012 By Sarah Morris

A few weeks ago, we revealed the first few tracks from the latest game in the hit Wii karaoke series, We Sing: Pop. Now we have the complete list of thirty songs set to appear on the game - and as always with the We Sing games, there's a great selection of tracks with some everyone will know. Judging by the large number of tracks on here that my brother blasts out at ludicrous volumes, it should be popular with the younger crowd at least:

  • Adele - Rolling In The Deep
  • Enrique Iglesias - Hero
  • Hanson - MmmBop
  • Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
  • Outkast - Hey Ya!
  • Rhianna - Don't Stop The Music
  • Tinie Tempah ft Eric Turner - Written In The Stars
  • Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
  • Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry
  • Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
  • Lady Gaga - Born This Way
  • Owl City - Fireflies
  • Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'
  • Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
  • Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around
  • Coldplay - Clocks
  • Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect
  • Nelly Furtado - I'm Like A Bird
  • Peter Andre ft Bubbler Ranx - Mysterious Girl
  • Sonny & Cher - I Got You Babe
  • Village People - YMCA
  • Flo Rida ft David Guetta - Club Can't Handle Me
  • Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun
  • Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over
  • Kelis - Milkshake
  • Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath
  • Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up
  • The Killers - When You Were Young
  • Wham - I'm Your Man
  • Wretch 32 ft Example - Unorthadox

Seeing as this is We Sing: Pop, the setlist is bound to be quite heavy on the pop music - from the rubbish modern stuff like the singing forehead Adele, Rhianna's 'Don't Stop The Music' and 'Don't Hold Your Breath' by Nicole Scherzinger. It also, understandably, seems quite heavy on the new Queen of Pop, Lady Gaga, with both 'Born This Way' and 'Bad Romance' making their presence felt on the setlist. Turning the clock back a bit further, there's even an embarrassing guilty pleasure from our Editor's past in the form of Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl' [hey, what's embarassing about that? - Ed], as well as that favourite pick of ill-advised karaoke singers everywhere, Enrique Iglesias' Hero. Here's our friend, Sam the "YouTube Superstar's" attempt. Make sure you're sitting down.

While there's a definite bias towards newer stuff, the oldies haven't been forgotten, as there's old 80s hits like Cyndi Lauper's 'Girl's Just Want To Have Fun', a song which was originally written for a man before she commandeered it, as well as the number one single 'I'm Your Man' by Wham!, released a mere six months before they split - and even further back, there's 60s hit 'I Got You Babe' by Sonny And Cher.

What does seem unusual is that there's only thirty tracks this time round, when every one of the previous We Sing games (excluding the original) have had forty - why the scaling down? Has the game we've come to know and love had a serious overhaul? Or maybe they couldn't find thirty decent pop songs without starting to repeat artists? We'll have answers to these and more in the coming weeks, as we'll have a full review up shortly - so stay tuned!
