Ever since the original Family Game Night came out, we've been hooked - with its "one more go" appeal, and simple, addictive gameplay, the board game collection's been a regular fixture on the Everybody Plays Xbox 360. And while, over the past few weeks, we've been (unsuccessfully) trying to wean ourselves away from it, with the hope of finally moving onto something new, EA have lured us back in all over again, with the announcement of Family Game Night 3.
Coming to the Wii and 360 this Autumn, Family Game Night 3 brings four new games - and one that's a slightly different version of a game we've already had to a console of your choice: Twister, Clue(do), The Game of Life, Mouse Trap, and Yahtzee Hands Down.
While we've already had enough Yahtzee to last us a life time, the inclusion of Mouse Trap had us grinning from ear to ear. We've got fond memories of the board game version of that, so it'll be interesting to see what EA do with the digital rendition.
The Game of Life, and Clue(do), which is frustratingly referred to as simply "Clue" throughout the entire press release, make up the other two "big hitters" in the package, with only Twister being the stand out "how the heck is that going to work?" in the bundle.
Along with the new games, a variety of improvements are promised for the overall package, with "four player local multiplayer" promised, along with online play on the Xbox 360, "for the first time". Which is strange, as we could have sworn we'd been playing the original Family Game Night across the internet for years. Oh wait - we have.
Being the massive fans of Family Game Night that we are, you can expect to hear more about this as soon as we get it.
