Apparently rather popular over in Japan since it's first iteration in 1991, Itadaki Street - or the easier on the tongue Fortune Street, as it's been renamed - is finally making it's way over to the UK. Seemingly a sort-of pumped up version of Monopoly, but with much cooler character designs - a mish-mash of classic Mario characters and some of the Dragon Quest chaps, including everyone's favourite ball of goo, the Slime (Oh, and you can play as your Mii too, but with the range of characters on offer, who'd seriously want to do that?), Fortune Street was unveiled at this year's E3 trade show in Los Angeles - and it's looking pretty spectacular.

In its simplest form, Fortune Street sees you making your way around the themed boards, a lot like Monopoly, only rather than buying tiles, you'll instead be buying stocks in certain tiles, and opening up shops in an attempt to make more money than your friends. Much like Monopoly, if one of your opponents lands on one of your shops, they have to pay you for the privilege - but as you can also hold shares in other tiles, you may get money even if they land on a space that isn't yours. To make things more interesting, scattered around the board are a variety of special squares that have a variety of effects, from giving your character a promotion, which increases your funds, to initiating a Mario Party-style mini-game - like betting on a Slime race.
We don't know about you, but we're looking forward to Fortune Street here at Everybody Plays. Because anything that resembles the mad multiplayer fun of Mario Party is fine by us - although we'll have to wait till Christmas before we'll get a chance to stroll down Fortune Street. Goo-urns.
