If you're an American, there's probably less of a novelty factor in seeing your country represented in a game. After all, the whole "America gets invaded by X" seems to be the standard plotline for countless "near future" shooters. It's a little bit different then, when rather than fighting through New York City, you'll be taking the fight to the streets of present day London. And in the upcoming first person shooter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, that's exactly what you'll be doing.

With the "Western world" (oh, how we loathe that phrase) being invaded by the dastardly ruskies, the conflict will span the entire globe, taking in locations from France, Germany, and good old Blighty, all the way across to Dubai. With the game's storyline, levels, multiplayer modes, release date and practically everything else having recently been leaked, Activision have seen fit to officially lift the lid on the game themselves, first releasing a teaser trailer a few days ago, and now following up with a full, in game one below. And what a trailer it is.

Showing a shootout with the an unnamed troop of bad guys outside the Houses of Parliament, with Big Ben in the background, and a tense looking chase with a car barrelling along next to a speeding Underground train, Modern Warfare 3 looks set to offer a disturbing image of our capital in the middle of a very modern war, hitting a lot closer to home than the other games in the series have.

With plenty of explosions, collapsing buildings, epic car chases, and more big budget thrills than any Hollywood blockbusters can match, Modern Warfare 3 is a game that seems sure to get the pulse racing. With just a few months to go until its 8th November launch, you'll be wanting to keep a close eye on this one.
