Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 info, release date leaked

Leak blows the lid on the year's biggest game

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 info release date leaked
18th May, 2011 By Ian Morris

While information about the Call of Duty games is usually kept under a military grade lock down until we near the game's release, it seems someone at Activision's let their usually hawk-like guard down, as gaming blog Kotaku have received... well... practically everything you could ever want to know about the latest game - some six months before its eventual launch.

Now revealed to be hitting the shelves on the 8th of November, the latest instalment in the multi-billion dollar generating franchise is sounding like every bit the same explosive, cinematic thrill ride that its predecessors have been.

The story begins with a surprise Russian attack on the United States - which is then replicated around the world. With the game's single player taking in such places as London, Berlin, and Dubai, you'll be switching rolls across the world, as you take control of a variety of agents on both sides of the conflict, across some fifteen levels of action in a story that looks set to provide a better thriller than most Hollywood films. You'll be taking control of vehicles too, with levels set to plop you in the seat of a tank, and the gunner seat of a Hercules, as you take part in what's sure to be an epic conflict. The multiplayer side of things seems to be shaping up nicely too, with the popular co-op mode, Spec Ops making its return, alongside a boosted number of modes and maps.

It is worth remembering, however, that the information Kotaku have received may not be 100% accurate when compared to the final game. This is still an unofficial "leak", and a long way from an announcement. A lot changes during a game's development, levels get cut, or redesigned beyond recognition, and the game's community manager, Robert Bowling, has already commented that "some" of the released info is "still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."

We'd be tempted to hold on too, as the full reveal at the games world's largest trade show, E3 is just a few weeks away. In the mean time, Activision have released a number of teaser trailers for the game, which do little bar confirm its existence. We've included the English one below, for your appetite whetting satisfaction.
