As part of Microsoft's ongoing Deal of The Week promotion, which sees numerous items of downloadable goodness being cut in price on a one-week-only basis (until they inevitably repeat the offer, anyway), this week sees EA's military themed shooter with a sense of humour, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 having a wide range of DLC slashed in price. Find out what's waiting for you below.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Deal of the Week 07/09/2011
Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam
600 Microsoft Points - around £5.10 (was 1200)
Arguably the biggest discount this week, Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam is a glorified map pack disguised as an expansion pack, which takes the game to a different field of far, and a different time zone - namely 70s Vietnam. Adding numerous new vehicles, weapons, and, of course, maps to the game, this multiplayer only expansion was fairly substantial at 1200 points - and represents great value now.
Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam Theme
120 Microsoft Points - around £1.02 (was 240)
And if you've just bought the Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion, and need to find some way to show your love for your newly aquired maps, why not download the Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam Theme - a collection of wallpapers, and little, Battlefield related thingies that stand behind your friends in the friend list. We'd be cautious about this one, though - with a new dashboard for the 360 around the corner, this could well be rendered obsolete - or at least, mostly obscured, like old themes were with the most recent update.
Onslaught Mode200 Microsoft Points - around £1.70 (was 400)
An entire extra (multiplayer) mode for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Onslaught is basically Battlefield's version of Gears of War's "Horde Morde", which sees you and up to four friends (online only) teaming up to face off against wave after wave of ever more powerful enemies. Tense, but needs split-screen.
Battlefield VIP
400 Microsoft Points - around £3.40 (was 800)
Battlefield's version of the online pass, the Battlefield VIP pass gave gave first hand buyers of the game access to regular, free multiplayer map packs, as a reward for buying the game brand new (and therefore giving money to EA). If you bought the game second hand, and fancy access to the new map packs, the VIP pass is now available for 400 Microsoft Points.
Kit Short-cut Bundle Pack
600 Microsoft Points - around £5.10 (was 1200)
The short-cut bundle is reserved for those of you who're happy to pay £40 for a game, but then decide you don't actually want to play it. Letting you unlock every class and vehicle specific item available in the game by paying, rather than playing, the short-cut bundle lets your give yourself an edge on the battlefield, giving your multiplayer character special weapons, and abilities - without having to slog through playing the game you've bought. No, we don't see the point of it either.
SPECACT Upgrade Bundle240 Microsoft Points - around £2.04 (was 400)
The SPECACT bundle is a collection of outfits, and camouflage, that allows you to give yourself an advantage over the competition in multiplayer games, by choosing an outfit that'll make you blend in with the background.

The discounts will be available from the 06/09/11, to 12/09/201, and are only available to Xbox Live Gold Members. Prices are calculated using the rate at which Microsoft Points are available when purchased from the dashboard, and are an estimate only.
