Batman: Arkham Origins

A gaming prequel to the incredible Wii U launch title Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins puts you into the superhero boots of everyone's favourite superhero/flying mammal combo as you bring justice to the streets of the lawless Gotham City. An origins story that shows a rookie Batman first learning the crime fighting ropes, Origins is something of a trial by fire for the young superhero, as he comes up against a range of the universe's most famous villains, from the Joker, to Bane, the Penguin, and everyone in between. A super hero game that actually manages to make you feel like a super hero, you'll be investigating crime scenes using the GamePad as a scanner, using the batarang to shoot up to the rooftops, leaping off buildings and gliding with your cape, before smashing down into the ground next to some baddies to dish out some freshly squeezed justice. It's every bit as cool as it sounds.

Mass Effect 3

A role playing game for those who like their combat with lasers and their romances with aliens, Mass Effect 3 is the concluding part of the epic Mass Effect series - yet also the only game in the series on the Wii U. Thankfully though, with a handy interactive comic to help those new to the series up to speed and fill you in on the back story, it's easy enough to get primed and ready for a sci-fi adventure that would make epic seem like an understatement. As an alien species known as the reapers invade the Earth, the fate of humanity lies on your shoulders - and while there are as many enemies to be beaten, quests to be completed, and plot twists to unfold as you'd expect, it's the relationships between the characters that's the most interesting part here. With difficult decisions to make, and every choice you make having an effect on your relationships with other characters, there's romance, betrayal, and adventure galore here, making this one well worth a look.
