Released in 2012, Skylanders Giants was the first sequel to Spyro's Adventure, and amongst its cast of brand new characters and reposes of old favourites, it bought with it several new figure types. Both the giants (hulking great figures with appropriately boosted HP), and lightcore figures (figures that light up when placed on the portal of power) made their debut with in the game.
