When the 3DS was unveiled at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo, one of the last things we expected to be announced alongside it was a whole new Resident Evil game. With a storied legacy of top-drawer survival horror games, the spine tingling Resident Evil had a whole host of classic adventures the game's developers, Capcom, could have chosen to remake, but instead, we're being treated to a brand new adventure.
As is the way with the majority of 3DS games so far, the details are currently a little bit thin on the ground. The only thing that's been released so far is a short trailer, so all we can do is speculate, but as it features Chris, Jill and an apparent flashback to the Lost in Nightmares expansion for Resident Evil 5, we can assume Resident Evil: Revelations will be the next game chronologically, picking up where the Xbox 360's Resident Evil 5 left off.
Without spoiling the plot for Lost in Nightmares - and with the limited amount of information available at the moment, we can't really say any more, but we assume that the "Revelations" in the game's title will link to something or someone mentioned during the expansion.
We'll have more information on Resident Evil Revelations when we get it, but until then, here's the trailer, for the game on the 3DS. That's right, not the Xbox 360 - this is how good games are going to look, running on the 3DS. We can't quite believe it, either.
