Today we have another Kinect dance title, this time in the form of Dance Paradise, a game which lets you "turn your living room into a dance floor".
Mircosoft's new Kinect motion-sensing camera scans your entire body and uses it as a controller for the game - so your every move is reflected on screen. So in terms of Dance Paradise, it can track every body part as you dance and score you on how well you perform.
Stick characters make their way down coloured tracks (a bit like the notes on games like Rock Band), before reaching a circle at the front - it's once its on this circle you need to adopt the same pose as it, and you get points depending on your timing and how well you followed the move. Dance Paradise takes your Xbox 360 avatar and uses that to represent you in the game, as you dance in a variety of brightly coloured locations - from beaches, to casinos to discos. There's also a multiplayer mode, where you can face off against a friend to see who's the best dancer.
The game is set to feature 40 songs - of these, only the first 20 have been released so far, and are as follows:
- Akon "Bellydancer"
- Caesars "Jerk It Out"
- Cassius "Toop Toop"
- Daft Punk "Around The World"
- David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland "When Love Takes Over"
- Geri Halliwell "It's Raining Men"
- Gwen Stefani "What You Are Waiting For"
- Kool & the Gang "Celebration"
- Lady Gaga "Bad Romance"
- Laroux "Bulletproof"
- Lilly Allen "F*** You"
- MC Hammer "Can't Touch This"
- Mika "We Are Golden"
- No Doubt "Hey Baby"
- Pussycat Dolls "When I Grow Up"
- Snoop Dogg ft Pharrell "Beautiful"
- Sophie Ellis Bextor "Murder On The Dancefloor"
- Supergrass "Alright"
- Taio Cruz "Break Your Heart"
- Yelle "À cause des garçons"
Dance Paradise is due out on the 10th November (the same day as the Kinect camera), and is priced at about £40. Till then, we'll be running a series of articles on Kinect - our 'Countdown to Kinect' - with a new game every day, as well as a FAQ set to answer any questions you might have about it, so make sure you check back tomorrow. We'll leave you with a trailer for Dance Paradise:
