We Sing: Encore is a karaoke game in which up to four players can grab a microphone and sing away to a series of popular songs, ranging from Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love' to Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama' and many more inbetween. Playing the game is a simple matter of reading the on-screen lyrics and matching your pitch to the note bars shown on screen - whose vertical position simply dictates how high or low the note is in comparison to the other ones. The better your singing matches up with the bars, the more points you'll get.
Perhaps the only problem younger children may encounter is that of reading - lyrics are displayed at the bottom of the screen and scroll by in time with the song. Not so confident readers may miss them, but it probably won't matter as it doesn't actually score you on your intonation - just the notes you're singing. This means that they could just hum along through the verses on the easiest difficulty, bolting out the chorus if they know it and not be any worse off for it.
We Sing: Encore is made for multiplayer games. There's a total of eight different multiplayer modes - both co-operative and competitive to cover every eventuality. In fact, the main multiplayer mode, 'We Sing' is a co-operative affair, where you work together to get a high score, and it doesn't give you a break down of how well (or not) each person did - thereby cutting out arguing and potential upsets. Other modes mix things up a bit, whether it's passing a single mic between randomly chosen players, background music/lyrics that cut out at random points or splitting up into teams to compete, there's plenty to keep you singing all night long.
Very little. While some of the songs may feature slightly suggestive lyrics or imagery, despite the box warning of bad language, we have yet to come across anything we'd count as swearing.
