SEGA Rally Online Arcade is an off-road rallying game with a difference. Far from being hyper-realistic, like most other games, SEGA Rally Online Arcade instead adopts a much more simplistic approach. Your car hugs the road, and while the change in surface is noticeable, as you race from tarmac, to dirt, to snow and back again, it doesn't lead to you crashing into a brick wall.
The problem for children, however, is in the difficulty. There really isn't that much to do in SEGA Rally Online Arcade, with five tracks, one Championship to complete, Quick Race, Time Attack, and Classic Rally modes, and a few unlockable cars making up the package. While early races in Championship can be great fun, the rest of the game is increasingly difficult, with the Classic Rally, Time Attack, and the final race of the Championship mode putting you up against AI that rarely make mistakes. It's tricky, to say the least, and the difficulty may put younger children off.
As a rally game, there's nothing questionable in here for parents to worry about. No gore, no violence, and no swearing what-so-ever.
With full support for split-screen, and Xbox Live multiplayer modes, the multiplayer's one of the highlights of SEGA Rally Online Arcade - even if it is fairly standard. With the crazily tough AI locked away, you'll have fun racing against your friends in tight, heated battles, across the full variety of tracks. While it's nothing revolutionary, it's enough fun to warrant a go if you've bought the game.
