What is Lego Star Wars 3?
Taking it's inspiration from The Clone Wars TV series, Lego Star Wars 3 is a portable adventure set in the much-loved sci-fi universe, in a galaxy far, far away. With familiar faces such as Yoda and Anakin Skywalker, alongside TV show star Ahsoka Tano, you'll take in everything from the snowy expanse of Tatooine and the desert wasteland of Geonosis to the, er, desert wasteland of Ryloth along the way. Promising epic lightsaber battles, and more of the smashing and bashing puzzle-solving fun the Lego games are known for, Lego Star Wars 3 is one entry you won't want to miss.
How do you play Lego Star Wars 3?
As you make their way through the various platforming levels, you'll be asked to solve puzzles and defeat enemies, keeping your eyes peeled for secret passages, items, or new areas, some of which can only be reached by certain characters. Each character in the game has their own special skill, and you'll need to make clever use of them to proceed, whether its shifting something with Force powers, slicing through things with your lightsaber or using a shorter character to squeeze through a small hatch.
How easy is Lego Star Wars 3 to pick up and play?
Designed from the ground up to make it both enjoyable and accessible, it's clear a lot of thought's gone into creating a game that anyone can enjoy - and it's paid off. Never failing to hold your hand through trickier sections, infinite lives and plenty of prompts (try and use the wrong character for a puzzle and you'll get a flashing picture of who you should be using) makes Lego Star Wars 3 a game no-one should find too taxing. Even a lack of reading ability isn't much of an issue as important story cutscenes are told through the trademark Lego pointing, grunting and shrugging, while most prompts are visual as well as through text.
Featuring a gang of cute plastic figures beating up other LEGO dudes, there's really nothing in the way of mature content in LEGO Star Wars 3. With nothing in the way of swearing or sex, what little "violence" there is is also suitably slapstick, as characters simply flash when struck, before breaking into their component pieces when defeated. There really is no violence that's any worse than a character "hitting" another with a lightsaber, which simply passes straight through the enemy, and makes them flash red.
