Parent's Guide

Leedmees is a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game for Kinect with a simple concept. Playing as a giant of sorts, all you have to do is get the leedmees from the blue portal to the red portal, in order to complete the level. Rather than placing items to alter the leedmees, you have to use your own body as a bridge, barrier, and general guide, to lead the leedmees on their way.

A puzzle game at heart, how well your child copes with this depends on their problem solving and motor skills. There's a lot of thinking to be done here, to figure out the safest way from one part of the level to another, and plenty of multitasking to do, too, as the leedmees keep walking, even when they're approaching a cliff!

There's a fair amount of reading to be done in the introduction, although it's entirely story related stuff, so it doesn't really matter too much if your child doesn't quite understand it.

Mature Content

As a Kinect based puzzle game, there's absolutely nothing for parents to concern themselves about in Leedmees. Although it's possible for your leedmees to die, or be squished under your foot, they simply disappear in a puff of stars. Thoroughly family friendly stuff.

Family Multiplayer

Fantastically, Leedmees has a full two player co-op mode, letting you, and your child team up to guide the leedmees to safety. While there are a few problems to begin with, as it's not initially obvious which side of the screen you need to stay on, or which player's which, leading to your two characters simply vibrating in the middle of the screen, once you figure out who's on what side, things get a lot more interesting.

With its own set of levels, the co-op mode here is no half hearted attempt, and is every bit as inventive as the single player. Whether it's requiring you to hold hands, and push a switch with the other to form a circuit and disable a trap, or has you guiding the leedmees to a portal that's moving around the other player's body, it's almost guaranteed hilarity, and plenty of fun will ensue.
