What is Just Dance 2016?
Just Dance 2016 is the latest instalment in Ubisoft's easy to pick up and play dancing series, in which players jig along to the latest pop hits and cheesy oldies, aiming for a high score. Featuring songs by everyone from Katy Perry and One Direction to The Little Mermaid's Under The Sea and 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease, there's plenty youngsters will know and love here, even if the track list does perhaps skew a little older than that of their more kid-friendly offerings, Just Dance Disney Party and Just Dance Kids.
How do you play Just Dance 2016?
Getting started with Just Dance is simple - if you're playing on the Wii/Wii U or Playstation 3, you simply grab one of your remote-like controllers, while Xbox and Playstation 4 players need only the consoles' cameras. All you need to do from there is pick a song from one of the 40+ on offer, and copy the on-screen stick men diagrams to dance along, earning points based on how well you've mirrored each move. New for this year, along with playing on your own or in competitive multiplayer, you can also tackle songs in co-op, working together for the highest score, rather than competing.
How easy is Just Dance 2016 to pick up and play?
Generally speaking, there's not a great deal anyone should struggle with with Just Dance - it's simple, fun and not at all serious. About the only sticking point is that, for the youngest of the young, the stick men pictures that show you what moves to do can be a little hard to decipher at times, and perhaps a bit too physically demanding for the clumsier child still developing their fine motor skills. That said, they'll likely be having too much fun leaping around to care, and as there's no game overs, that's all that really matters.
As it's a dancing game, Just Dance 2016 has nothing particularly untoward - no sex scenes, swearing or bloody violence to speak of. We suppose you could class a handful of the songs as having mildly suggestive lyrics, referencing 'talking dirty' and 'filthy love' (Prince Royce's Stuck On A Feeling), but if you're fine with them hearing it on the radio, then Just Dance 2016 shouldn't be an issue.
