Jewel Link: Legends of Atlantis is a match three game set in the underwater world of the sunken city. To help rebuild the city, you need to harvest various items by matching groups of three or more icons on a grid, either horizontally or vertically to make them disappear. As well as collecting enough of each gem, you also need to flip all of the blue-backgound-ed squares to gold by making matches over them - once you've done both within the time limit, you've finished the level and can move on to the next.
The time limit though is where the problems are going to lie, particularly for younger children who may take longer to spot potential matches. Some of the levels took us a fair few retries to complete, so it could quickly get frustrating for youngsters, although you do get the option of adding an extra five minutes to the clock after a game over. You also have a series of special moves you can use to help - ones that clear a random selection of gems, add extra time to the clock and shuffle the grid to name but a few.
If your child is quite keen on the likes of Bejeweled, Actionloop or any of the other match 3 games, the odds are that they'll like Jewel Link: Legends of Atlantis too. They may find the time limit gets a bit harsh though.
Unless you find mermaids offensive, Jewel Link: Legends of Atlantis is as clean as a whistle, with no gore, sex or swearing in sight.
