'It Came From Outer Space' is an add-on for 'A World Of Keflings', putting you in charge of a desert full of aliens who've crash-landed and need help getting back home - and that's where you come in. Using your amazing delegation skills together with your immense strength, you'll need to harvest and manage resources, give people jobs to do and put together various buildings so the aliens can return to their home planet of Yurbut.
But you can't just build things willy-nilly and harvest things however you like - a key part of the game is working out how best to manage your resources effectively. For example, you'll need enough sand, leaves and crystals to make the buildings you need, and some resources will need to be converted into others - like rock can be refined into cut stone. You'll also need to work out the best strategy for assigning jobs to your Keflings - sending a single solitary Kefling half way across the desert to harvest leaves one at a time may not be the most efficient way of stocking up your warehouses and factories. Both 'A World Of Keflings' and 'It Came From Outer Space' require a decent level of reading ability to play, as there's quite a bit of writing and no voice-overs - although if your child can manage the one, they're sure to be able to manage the other.
'A World of Keflings' and its add-on 'It Came From Outer Space' are practically free of any mature content. While there's no blood, guts, gore, or swearing, the game does contain the ability to kick Keflings around, although everything's handled in a very slapstick way - all you do is press X to give them a boot up the bum, complete with a "WAHEY" sound effect as they get flung a few feet forwards, making it more funny than anything.
'A World Of Keflings' and it's add-on 'It Came From Outer Space' offer the option to play in two-player co-operative - and it may be a good game for a parent and child to play together, where the parent could read the writing to the child if they're not so confident at reading.
