Ben 10 Omniverse 2 is another tie-in title for the immensely popular Cartoon Network series, which follows the alien-transforming teen as he saves the Earth from the frog-like Incursean invasion, who have managed to enslave humanity while Ben's back was turned. The story itself, while largely inconsequential to the action going on on-screen, is told through a number of fully-voiced cut-scenes, will, while they make little sense to anyone who doesn't watch the TV series religiously, at least means those who aren't so great at reading can follow the action.
Levels are divided into two distinct sections - areas where your character automatically runs along corridors, and at the end of said corridors, rooms where enemy aliens gather. The running sections, essentially turning the game into an infinite runner like mobile smash Temple Run, require some seriously fast reactions, as you move left and right to switch "lane", while frantically swapping between alien forms to get past the obstacles that crop up in the corridors - a heavy character to smash through fragile walls, the light alien to jump over gaps, or the medium guy to chuck explosives that destroy turrets. Which is easier said than done! With branching corridors, finding your way to the end of the maze like levels is half of the challenge here.
In terms of things children may struggle with, it's really just the difficulty that may be an issue here. Run into too many obstacles and you'll pass out, which unfortunately sends you right back to the beginning of the level, rather than a checkpoint halfway through, which younger players may find frustrating. Fortunately, the combat based rooms are a fair bit easier to deal with, and just require you to hammer the attack button until all the bad guys are defeated, after which point you can move on - along more corridors to more rooms, on and on until you make your way through the maze of a level to the end.
Based on the ever popular Ben 10 series of cartoons, Ben 10 Omniverse 2 has players beating up the toad-like Incursean aliens, who simply fall over and fade away when defeated. There's no blood or guts whatsoever, nor any bad language of any sort - it's pretty much identical to the stuff in the TV show.
