Superheroes are cool, and Batman is no exception. In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, a game based on the cheesy cartoon series of the same name, Batman and his trusty side-kick Robin are on a mission to take down a variety of supervillains before they can (as is always the case) take over the world. Armed with all manner of bat-gadgets, you and your accomplice need to fight your way through their minions, along underground caverns and beat up bosses to put a stop to their evil tricks.
Playable in two player co-operative the whole way through, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a hilariously cheesy game for some fun multiplayer bad-guy bashing action. Each hero has their own unique set of items at their disposal which are useful for accessing certain areas, but there's not really much in the way of puzzles to contend with - although having a helping hand for ploughing through the scores of enemies is useful.
Perhaps the only potential stumbling block will be the controls - which are a bit on the complicated side, with both regular and strong attacks, throws and more all squeezed into a few buttons/motions with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. That being said, it is completely possible to get through the whole game by just mashing a single attack button, thanks to the game's gentle difficulty - there's no lives to worry about, and you just get respawned where you left off when you get defeated.
Based on the TV show of the same name, Batman the Brave and the Bold features a lot of ne'er-do-wells getting their superhero comeuppance - but in true Batman fashion, there are no deaths, and no gore on show.
Any violence here is suitably cartoonish in nature, with Batman punching, kicking, and throwing his way through the levels, or throwing his batarang at people. Whenever an impact happens, the character will reel back, and an explosion style graphic appears covering the actual punch.
Sticking true to its subject matter, there's also nothing in the way of sex on show here, and no swearing, either.
