Since it's announcement, the Ocarina of Time remake for 3DS has been right at the top of our Most Wanted lists, but the money-savvy voice in the back of our head has been nagging at us. Could we really justify shelling out £30 for a game that we've already played through 4 or 5 times?
Thankfully, Nintendo seem to have managed to justify the asking price themselves, because with Ocarina of Time 3DS, you don't get just one game, you get two.
Well, sort of.
As well as the remake of Ocarina of Time, the cartridge also includes a remake of the Ocarina of Time "Master Quest". Now, there's a high chance you'll have never heard of the Master Quest version, as the only time it was released in this country (it originally came out on Nintendo's ill-fated N64 Japanese-only disc-drive add-on, the 64DD) was on a limited edition bonus disc that you only got when you bought the collectors edition of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on the Gamecube.
While the main plot of the game is exactly the same, as you play a young boy tasked with travelling through time to save the world from the evil Gannondorf, the layout of the dungeons, and the puzzles contained therein, have all been shaken up and made more difficult, like a Hard Mode of Ocarina of Time, if you will.
Still scheduled for the rough time of "June", you can bet we'll have a full review of both games included closer to the date.
And for the record, we've never managed to beat the Master Quest.
