Yo-Kai Watch finally confirmed for April release

It's been a long time coming, but the Pokemon-alike 3DS game hits shelves soon!

Yo-Kai Watch finally confirmed for April release
23rd February, 2016 By Ian Morris

It's been a long time since we first laid eyes on Yo-Kai Watch. The new Pokemon-alike role playing game from Professor Layton/Ni No Kuni studio, Level 5, has been in development for quite some time, lighting the charts on fire in Japan, before turning our heads when we went hands-on with it at Nintendo event last summer. Of course, last August was a long time ago now - and since then, there's been very little in the way of official updates from Nintendo. But now, the Big N have revealed that Yo-Kai Watch will be hitting shop shelves at the end of April - so there's not too long to go!

Nothing short of a sensation in its native Japan, Yo-Kai Watch revolves around a type of mysterious creatures known as the Yo-Kai. Based on genuine Japanese folklore, these awkward little mites have been causing trouble for the residents of Springdale - and it's up to you to put things right. As the proud owner of an equally mysterious Yo-Kai Watch, you're the only person who can see the Yo-Kai that are causing the trouble - and it's up to you to battle, and befriend them, to put things right.

There's a Yo-Kai behind everything that goes wrong...

Whether there's a Yo-Kai making everyone in a house hungry, or causing kids in the park to act lethargic, if ever things seem off, you can bet there's a Yo-Kai behind it - and each of the Yo-Kai often have problems of their own that need solving, whether they're searching for someone, or just trying to impress their old owner. It's an interesting game, with a unique battle system that sees you sending six Yo-Kai into battle - three of them at once - rotating a dial to switch your party in and out.

After a lengthy wait, though, there's not too much longer to go, as Yo-Kai Watch will be available from the 29th April in the UK and Europe, only on Nintendo 3DS. While that may be three years after Japan - and over three months since the US and Australia got it - we're just happy it'll finally be here.
