It's been a long time coming, but the latest add-on for one of the best Xbox Live Arcade games so far, A World of Keflings, is coming next week. Joining a bunch of pint-sized people, in A World of Keflings, it was up to you, playing as your humongous avatar, to spend your time helping to organise the little people, as they gathered the raw materials they needed to put their prosperous kingdom together - with a boot up their backside helping persuade them to get on with it. The original game took you on travels across the globe, from a grassy forest kingdom, through a frozen ice world to a wind-swept desert, helping out their fantabulous, and genuinely funny cast of characters with their problems (which, admittedly mostly revolved around constructing new buildings, or collecting resources) - before returning for the alien-themed 'It Came From Outer Space' add-on a year later.
And the expansion of the Keflings world doesn't look set to halt any time soon either, with the new 'Sugar, Spice and Not So Nice' pack, winner of the 'choose the next expansion theme' poll a while back, releasing next Wednesday, on the 10th of October, for 320 Microsoft Points (around £2.72). As part of the contest, one fan was selected to be Kefling-ised to appear in the game and the winner, Kari the Last Chocolatier, plays a prominent role in the story - a story of a sinister plot to snatch control of Candy Peak, as shown in the trailer below:
It's also looking like the folks at Ninja Bee are doing just what we hoped they would, and making their way through the other contenders from the poll, as you may have noticed the little undead surprise at the end of the trailer. Called 'The Curse of the Zombiesaurus', the second expansions asks you to help out a herd of zombie Keflings, the Spooklings, gathering bones from graves, brimstone from volcanoes and ectoplasm from ghosts, to rebuild their eerie graveyard town that was recently destroyed by a rampaging Zombiesaurus. With a new cast of goulish Keflings, such as Wilhelm the grave keeper and Count Kefula that are sure to be as entertaining as their predecessors, this is one zombie-themed game we don't want to miss. And better still, it'll be hitting the Marketplace before Halloween.
If you haven't managed to pick up a World of Keflings yet, once you've stopped standing in the corner for being a terrible person, next week gives you the perfect chance to put right your past sins, as the game will be half price at just 400 Microsoft Points (around £3.40) from next Tuesday as part of Microsoft's Deal of the Week Promotion. In the meantime, stay tuned as we'll be getting more information on the upcoming 'The Curse of the Zombiesaurus' kingdom in the coming weeks - and maybe even some sign of the third option in the contest - YARRRRR, the Pirate Kingdom!
