As of today, Nintendo are giving people the chance to download demos of WiiWare games, via the Wii Shop Channel, giving them a chance to try out a taster of several games without having to use up any of their Nintendo points. With four demos initially on offer, you'll have to act quick if you want to try them out, as each demo will be available for only a limited time, to ensure "the line-up is constantly kept refreshed, to provide players with a varied and entertaining experience" - but as of yet, there's no word on how long each demo is going to stick around.
The first four demos consist of two older WiiWare games, as well as two of this week's new titles:
Furry Legends
Price: 1000 Nintendo Points (about £10.00)
Playing as a fluffy Furball, you must help save the land of Furland from the evil Lord Squarie by solving a variety of physics-based puzzles. Furland is a colourful and weird world inhabited by not just the Furballs, but five-eyed crabs, round cows and crazy rabbits. Each Furball has it's own special ability - such as being able to manipulate time - that you'll need to use to complete the puzzles.
Jett Rocket
Price: 1000 Nintendo Points (about £10.00)
Explore the beautiful planet of Yoroppa - from it's tropical islands, to poisonous swamps to freezing glaciers - to find out why it's been attacked by an evil 'Power Plant Posse' in Jett Rocket. Travel around the planet in various jet powered vehicles - ride the ocean on your Jet Boat, parachute from giant cliffs, speed through arctic regions on your Jet Snowboard or skyrocket with your Jet Turbine, in this platforming adventure.
Zombie Panic in Wonderland
Price: 1000 Nintendo Points (about £10.00)
The world suddenly gets attacked by a large influx of zombies, and a young hero - with machine gun in hand - must fight to save his friends from the "amorous zombie" spell, solving the mystery of the "scented dwarves" to destroy an evil power hidden in a castle in a far off city. It's about as crazy as it sounds.
ThruSpace: High Velocity 3D Puzzle
Price: 800 Nintendo Points (about £8.00)
Steer the Keydron - a simple geometric shape - at high speeds through mazes, rotating it to fit through the small gaps, picking up crystals for points as you go. Once you've mastered the basics, you can then do tricks and combos. For example, some gaps will be bigger than your keydron, but if you can manage to make the keydrons shadow entirely fill the gap too - you can score big points. It's like a bit like that Hole in the Wall gameshow, but with bricks instead of people!
