Free games are addictive - not satisfied with the ten free NES 3DS Ambassador games out to download from today, you're probably already looking forward to the ten free Game Boy Advance games we've been promised before the end of the year, as Nintendo's way of saying sorry for dropping the 3DS's price so soon. But with the release date of said games not yet announced, how are you going to know when you can download them (apart from from our exceedingly well-written news stories, of course)?
Fortunately, Nintendo have put together something called the 'Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Certificate', a little program you can download at the same time as your free NES games (if you haven't already done so, why not take a look at our handy guide to downloading your free 3DS Ambassador games). Once downloaded, the program will happily sit on your 3DS' Home menu. Launch it, and it'll tell you it needs to create extra data - click OK, and once it's finished with that, it'll start to play you a video.
The video pretty much does our job for us - it's a four minute long loop in several different languages telling you to touch the 'Notifications' button at the bottom of the Touch Screen. Doing so will ask you if you want to receive SpotPass notifications for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Certificate - click 'Receive' and you're done! Now the program will automatically download messages via SpotPass to tell you when you can download your ten free Game Boy Advance games - so now all there is to do is sit back and watch for the little blue circle in the corner of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Certificate's box on your Home menu. As an annoying meerkat might say - simples!
