If you're a cooking fanatic, and you also love video games, chances are you'll know of the brilliant series known as Cooking Mama. A game which teaches you (in the loosest sense of the word) both how to cook, and how to have fun while doing it, it's a children's game series with a surprising amount of adult fans, that helps kids through the stages of cooking up a great recipe. With exciting mini-games and activities that kids will play over and over again, it's been a while since we've had a new Mama game - but now she's back with two!
Cooking Mama: Bon Appétit! and Gardening Mama: Forest Friends, unusually published by Nintendo, are two brand new games in the Cooking Mama series, due for release on the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS as of March 6th.
The first game, Cooking Mama: Bon Appétit! is technically Cooking Mama 5 - a game that's been out in the US for some time now, but has finally made its way to these shores. Following the same pattern as the previous games in the series, Bon Appétit is due to feature over 60 recipes to make and enjoy, as your 3DS Touch Screen gets turned into a chopping board, pot, and frying pan in the simple mini-games. If you fancy a break from the cooking, there'll also be two separate modes - "Let's help Mama!", which on the previous game, involved vacuuming, and "Let's help Harvest!" that are designed to test your reflexes. Not only that, but Bon Appétit! also includes a multiplayer mode that will allow up to four players play together to create the ultimate recipe!
The second game, Gardening Mama: Forest Friends takes a different perspective on cooking, and focuses more on the production of ingredients rather than the cooking of them. In this game, you'll be tasked with growing and looking after your very own garden, with over 50 planting options to choose from. The game also takes into account the business side of produce sales (in a very kid friendly way), as you and Mama have to put your business hats on, to figure out the best ways to get your product selling. In a nice twist, the game also comes with full support for SpotPass, where you'll be able to download free items periodically. Both games are due March 6th as both a physical release, and a digital download - so if you want to get cooking, get buying!
