Everything's been a bit quiet on the Skylanders front as of late, with the steady stream of figures continuing to trickle into stores. With the inevitable sixth Skylanders title soon to be on the horizon, there may not be much to talk about game-wise, but that hasn't stopped Activision's quest for a bit of good PR for the series. And what better way of getting some good PR than with a bit of a charity push? Given that the most recent Skylanders game, Skylanders Superchargers, is all about taking the fight to series bad guy Kaos via land, sea and sky, they've decided to rope in various famous faces from the sporting world to help make sick kiddies' dreams come true. Awww.

Shreenik, who was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer, wished for a Power Rangers party.

Partnering with the famous Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps sick and terminally ill children live out their dreams, whether it's a trip to Disney Land, meeting their favourite celebrity or spending a day as a chef, Activision have enlisted five racing personalities (and two YouTubers) to design their own Skylanders Superchargers-inspired, radio-controlled cars to auction off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The famous faces lending their artistic talent to the cause include German racing driver Timo Glock, French TV presenter Joan Faggianelli (we don't know either), kitesurfing champion Gisela Pulido and a couple of popular YouTubers, St3pny and TheKing77 (nope, us neither), each of which have designed their own unique Supercharged car, inspired by either Hot Streak or Crypt Crusher. The former Top Gear Stig, Ben Collins, and British race driver Max Chilton have also joined in the charity drive too, with one re-imagining Hot Streak and the other the Crypt Crusher.

"As soon as I heard about this Skylanders activity I had to take part. Being a huge fan of racing and cars, I think Skylanders SuperChargers is really cool and I'm enjoying playing the game!" said Ben Collins, "It's a great idea to raise money for a highly deserving cause, like Make-A-Wish, and getting to customise my own SuperChargers car was awesome.". Max Chilton was similarly enthusiastic, saying "I'm really excited to be working with Skylanders on this activity. I love racing in SuperChargers so getting to customise my own HotStreak vehicle was awesome! Make-A-Wish is a wonderful cause that does amazing work with children, so I'm proud to be supporting them with this campaign. My very own customised SuperCharger will be up for auction so make sure you look out for it - all proceeds will be going towards this incredibly deserving cause.".

Some say that he's terrified of ducks, and that there's an airport in Russia named after him. All we know is he used to be called the Stig.

To take part in the auction and bid for your favourite vehicles, head over to the official auction page now, and help grant a once-in-a-lifetime wish for a child with life-threatening illnesses! And bag yourself a nifty, one-of-a-kind Skylanders remote-controlled car in the process!
