A new year, a new you. January is traditionally the time of year where we look to the future, and try to change ourselves for the better, whether it's a new fitness regime, better financial control, or cutting down on cigarettes and alcohol. But what if there was a different, not to mention more fun way of making a new you, without having to move from the sofa? Well, as always, The Sims has the answer, with a whole new Game Pack landing at the end of the month, giving you the chance to try out life as a blood-sucking, garlic-avoiding, daylight-hating nosferatu! Who needs resolutions when you have a vampiric revolution right at your finger tips!
Upping the ante on all the vampire stuff they've done before, the Vampire Game Pack gives you new Create-A-Sim options, a spooky new neighbourhood, and, of course, plenty of vampiric powers to make things interesting. Glowing eyes, pasty pale skin, creepy eye-sockets and a whole gamut of dramatic eyebrows let you craft your perfect vampiric being, with each Sim having two different vampire forms - their regular vanilla form and a Dark Form, complete with creepy walking style - perfect for getting up to all kinds of vampiric business. Just make sure you don't leave them out in the sun too long, or things might get a bit… flammable.
But perhaps the biggest reason to become a vampire is for the funky new powers you'll gain. Powered by 'Plasma', a blood-like substance you can gain from fast-food-style Plasma Packs, home-grown Plasma Fruit, or by harvesting it the traditional way - from poor unsuspecting mortals nearby - powers give you even more fun ways to mess with your victims. Precisely what powers will be on offer is a little vague, but from the trailer, it looks like some kind of mind control is on offer, as well as super speed, and the ability to transform into a bat. You'll also have the power to turn other mortals into vampires too, to create a whole neighbourhood of blood-sucking immortals.
And speaking of neighbourhoods, the Vampire Game Pack will come with it's own mini-neighbourhood, called Forgotten Hollow - a dark and creepy block where night lasts a very long time. Comprised of five lots, all centred around a plaza dedicated to a guy called Vlad, the founding vampire of Forgotten Hollow, with creeping fog, old, withered foliage and dark stone buildings, it's the perfect place to raise your budding vampire tribe - much like New Orleans. And, with a whole host of spooky objects and furniture, you can set about creating your perfect Gothic mansion, decked out in dark mahoganies and red velvet of course. There's even a pipe organ, with its own musical instrument skill to level up, and a coffin bed where you can see about WooHooing to create the next generation of immortals.
The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack will be hitting The Sims 4 on PC later this month, on the 24th January - just in time for our resident Simmer's birthday! Why not check out the announcement trailer below to get yourself in the mood - there's even a quiz to find out what kind of vampire you are too!
