This week on the Wii Shop Channel, there's a distinct lack of Virtual Console games for some reason. This seems to happen sometimes - about a month ago in fact. We'll have to ask Nintendo why. There are however, two rather interesting puzzle-y platform-y games in the form of Tales of Elastic Boy: Mission 1, a cute orange blob with mega stretchy arms, and a puzzling, ripped-paper, rotating world in And Yet It Moves.
Tales of Elastic Boy: Mission 1
On: WiiWare
Price: 600 Nintendo Points (about £6.00)
This brightly-coloured, physics-based platformer follows the story of Elastic Boy - a little orange space-hopper type creature in his quest to save his home planet. As the name suggests, he's rather stretchy, with arms that can swing and punch and has an amazing reach that most boxer's would kill for. He can roll about rather fast and also give his enemies deadly headaches by jumping on their heads, Mario-style.
And Yet It Moves
On: WiiWare
Price: 1000 Nintendo Points (about £10.00)
A bit like a fancier, electronic version of those ball tilty puzzles you get in crackers, And Yet It Moves has you rotating the playing field to navigate your character around the maze - but as you rotate, you might end up inadvertently clonking yourself on the head with a rock, or upset a monkey - so watch out. You don't want to rip yourself up in this papery puzzle game.
