Yarr.
As we were scanning the horizon recently, looking for our old enemy, GeeZee Beard, we happened to come across a new addition to the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) - namely, Sid Meier's Pirates!, which, along with causing every sentence we write to have a grammatical meltdown, has been rated as a 10+ for the Wii. Yarr.
As a game can't be released in the US of A without first being rated by the ESRB, the game's inclusion on their website seems to be a pretty reliable confirmation that some pirating action will be making its way to the Wii shortly.
While it remains to be seen whether the Wii will be receiving the same version of Sid Meier's Pirates!, which was released on the Xbox, PSP and PC several years ago, or if it'll be getting an entirely new, Wii specific version - in our mind, the former seems far more likely than the latter.
Created by the man who bought us such lofty hits as Civilisation, the original Pirates placed you into the salty sea boots of a buccaneer, as you sailed the Caribbean, getting into scrap with other ships, before pillaging, looting, and strangely, dancing with the Governer's daughter.
Now that the information's been ousted by the ESRB, we'd expect an official confirmation shortly.
