Quiz Party Coming To The Wii At The End Of July
12th July, 2012 By Sarah Morris

Here at Everybody Plays, we're always partial to the odd quiz game. There's nothing quite like getting a few friends, or the whole family crammed onto the sofa to have a go at a game that almost literally anyone can do, where the only requirement is being able to press a button, and a little bit of general knowledge. Hoping to ape the same "gather round" fun as Nintendo's other crazy selling multiplayer titles like Wii Sports Resort, Wii Play Motion and Wii Party, comes Quiz Party - and there's no prizes for guessing what you'll be doing in this game. A bit like a Nintendo take on classic board game Trivial Pursuit, Quiz Party has you answering random questions on classic subjects like History, Geography and Nature to more modern conundrums based on Sports, TV and Film. Each of the two thousand questions is voiced by the legendary quiz show host Roy Walker, of Catch Phrase fame.

Well, it's good, but it's not quite right.

In order to win, you'll need to collect a certain amount of stickers (kind of like Trivial Pursuit's 'cheeses') out of a selection of five question types by answering questions correctly. These categories include 'Odd One Out', where you need to pick the picture that doesn't match the others, 'Blind Test' where you're asked to listen to music or sounds, 'Multiple Choice', where you need to pick the correct answer out of four and 'Time Up', where you have a time limit to stick to. There's also one called 'Brainstorm' where "your observation, concentration and memory will be tested", whatever that might mean.

The funky thing about Quiz Party is there's no limit to the number of players who can join in, making it the perfect party entertainment. As long as you can split yourselves into between two and four teams, then you're sorted as it's one of those 'pass a single Wii Remote round' jobs. Then you can choose which game mode you want to try of the three on offer - a 'Normal Game' is a race to get fifteen stickers, whereas the shorter 'Flash Game' is a frantic dash for five of them, but if you just want to dip in and out for some quick-fire questions, then the 'Quick Question' mode might be the ticket.

Quiz Party hits stores in just a few weeks, on the 27th July at a more budget-friendly price of around £25.
