A week that combines two of my favourite things - puzzle games and cheap stuff. There's even cute, slightly goofy looking dragons in one of them. 'Tis a good week.
Puzzle Bobble LIVE! - 50% Off
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)
The cute little dragons are back - in the bubble bursting puzzle game that we're never quite sure what we should be calling it - Bust A Move or Puzzle Bobble, depending on which side of the Atlantic you're from. Fire your bubble at a cluster of two or more bubbles of the same colour to make them disappear, and clear the screen to finish the level. Sounds simple, until you realise quite how bad you are at aiming.
Tower Bloxx Deluxe - 50% Off
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)
How do you build a skyscraper? In Tower Bloxx it couldn't be simpler - you just need to press the A button at the right time to drop a building on top of your tower. Which sounds easy enough, until you go higher and higher, ending up in outer space, where your tower starts to sway an awful lot every time you don't land your building dead centre...
Gyromancer - 33% Off
Was: 1200 Microsoft Points (about £10.00)
Now: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)
A combination of role playing and puzzling, Gyromancer has you playing as the mage, Rivel, on his quest to rid the Aldemona wood of the brooding darkness - battling against various enemies along the way. But this is battling with a difference - you rotate groups of four gems to make lines of three gems of the same colour. The line of gems then disappears and you damage the enemy. At 800 points off, Gyromancer is now the price it always should have been.
Puzzle Chronicles - 50% Off
Was: 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.67)
Now: 400 Microsoft Points (about £3.33)
Rescued from some slavers by a Sorceress, you set off on a quest to save your people from the oppression of the Ashurin Empire, fighting all sorts of beasties and baddies along the way. A bit like a sideways, colour matching version of Tetris, you arrange the colours around the centre line (when you collect enough of one colour, your little sidekick animal attacks the opponent) and destroy the rage gems (that look like skulls), to move the centre line over towards your opponents side. When your opponent can no longer make a move, you win, and the enemy is defeated.
