There's nothing quite like a bit of new hardware to really shake things up in the games industry, and this year in particular is shaping up to be very exciting indeed as masters of all things shiny and impressive Sony are letting the brand spanking new PlayStation 4 loose on Europe on November 29th, just in time for Christmas. The console's available to pre-order now, although stock is limited and some pre-orders won't be fulfilled until after launch. The PS4 will set you back a cool £349 in the UK, so it's a relief that there's some great looking games on the way. Following Sony's showing at the Gamescom expo in Germany this week, we now have a list of the PS4 games that'll be available before the end of the year;
- Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
- Basement Crawl
- Battlefield 4
- Blacklight
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Contrast
- DC Universe Online
- Doki Doki Universe
- DriveClub
- FIFA 14

- Hohokum
- Just Dance 2014
- Killzone: Shadow Fall

So there we go. We reckon there's a good mix of titles there, mixing the big name blockbusters like Call of Duty, FIFA 14 and Just Dance, with some potentially more intriguing smaller titles like Doki-Doki Universe and ninja platformer N++. Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs still looks mightily impressive, and it'll be fun to see the LEGO superheroes make the leap to the next generation. It looks as though early PS4 adopters will have plenty to keep themselves occupied with for a while, and with retail games coming in at around the £50 mark, we're glad that there's a selection of more wallet-friendly downloadable games on offer too. We've covered some of these launch titles already, like the charming and inventive Knack, and we're looking forward to checking out more of these when they're released.
