With the game's release now so close it can be measured in terms of weeks rather than months, Poké-fever has thoroughly taken hold at Everybody Plays towers. Never ones to miss a trick, Nintendo have decided to further stoke the flames by releasing a special demo of the upcoming Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. However, in a bit of an unusual move, you can't just go to the eShop and download a copy of for yourself - you'll have to visit one of a number of sites, and jump through a few hoops first.
Here's a complete list of the ways you can get a demo:
- If you've pre-ordered Pokémon Omega Ruby and/or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire via Amazon, ShopTo or the Nintendo UK official store, you may be emailed with a code - so check your inbox!
- If you've bought Pokémon X or Pokémon Y from Amazon, Smyths Toys, ShopTo, Or Nintendo UK store, you may also receive an email with a code.
- The Pokémon Booth at MCM Comic Con London (October 24th to October 26th) will be giving away codes to attendees throughout the event.
- Certain GAME stores will also be giving away codes in store via the Nintendo Zone program on your 3DS - all you have to do is load it up, and follow the instructions.
- And, finally, Nintendo have are running a huge giveaway over at Nintendo Life. Rather than giving a handful of codes to a load of websites (we did ask!), if you want to be in with a chance of winning, Nintendo Life have 30,000 codes to give away, and will be handing out 250 of the things an hour. All you have to do is enter your email address to be in with a chance of winning - and with so many codes to give away, the odds are in your favour.
UPDATE: Gamespot also now have codes to give away.
A first for a Pokémon game, this special demo will give you an exclusive opportunity to try the game before it's released next month. Rather than letting you play through a chunk of the actual game, the demo instead takes the form of a prequel of sort, and comes with a load of cool features. Not only will you be able to mega evolve some Pokémon for the first time and see how they play in battle, but you'll also be able to transfer your items - as well as something really, really, special - into Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire when they're released.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are released on Nintendo 3DS on November 28th. As you can probably tell, we can't wait!
