Disney Infinity is shaping up to be something of an interesting title. Essentially Disney's take on Skylanders, Disney Infinity draws in a variety of Disney universes and characters for players to interact and toy around with endlessly, with real life figures, when placed on a Skylanders-esque "Portal of Power" letting you play as that character in the game. When the game launches, you'll be able to enter three different worlds - known as playsets - with each one based around a popular film. So far, we've seen Cars, The Incredibles, and Monsters University - and now, Disney have lifted the lid on their Pirates of the Caribbean world.
With a new trailer, and some new screens showing off the new world, you'll be able to take control of Captain Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones and Captain Barbossa, as you, well, mess around. Whether you're taking the helm of your own ship and having a sea faring battle, customising their vessel fully to their choosing, or riding a tiny motorbike across the rooftops, Disney Infinity provides endless possibilities - and plenty of laughs. After all, how many other games see Jack Sparrow leaping over a rainbow road on a BMX, while Davy Jones rides below on a horse?
With a strong focus on same-console multiplayer gameplay, and additional figures available to buy separately, Disney Infinity looks set to be every bit as much of a drain on parents pockets as Skylanders has been for the past few years. Just to make it easier to part you with your money, no matter what your platform of choice, you should be able to sink your teeth into a bit of Disney Infinity fun, with the game set to launch on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. Set for a release on the 20th of August 2013 in Europe, why not indulge yourself on the trailer below and some new screenshots to whet your appetite.
