Recently, gaming merchandise seems to be becoming more and more popular. From Halo t-shirts, helmets, and costumes, to Kirby plush toys, or Luigi bobble heads, in recent years, the amount of gaming related goodies seems to have shot through the roof - much to the dismay of our shelves and floors, which have had to take it upon themselves to shoulder the extra burden.

However, we don't remember seeing many tie-ins quite as... unusual as this.

To celebrate the release of No More Heroes this Friday (28th May), the game's publishers, Rising Star Games, have teamed up with Bedtime Flirt to produce a range of underwear, inspired by the game and its range of femme fatales.

Letting you, er, dress up as three of the characters from the game, the outfits certainly seem fairly authentic.

"No More Heroes 2 is all about style," says Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games. "Designed by legendary creative director Suda 51, it's a game which effortlessly exudes cool - and we wanted to offer fans of the game the opportunity to replicate that cool in real life. The team at Bedtime Flirt has done a tremendous job in replicating the characters from the game - and we expect the range to to be hugely popular."

"No More Heroes 2 is the only game which suits a lingerie collection," says Bedtime Flirt designer Joanna Robinson.  "We've assembled a collection which is as stylish as the game, and will hopefully prove as fun. It'll be interesting to see which of the three characters proves to be the most popular."

And it's a fair point. We don't think Master Chief pants would have quite the same appeal.

So, if you feel like taking the game's characters out of the Wii, and, er, into real life, head over to Bedtime Flirt, and get browsing. No More Heroes 2 is out this Friday on the Wii. Putting you in the role of the nerdy (or "otaku") hero, Travis Touchdown, an unlikely assassin whose weapon of choice is a beam katana - like a lightsaber, but pointier, the game is about as mental as it sounds.
