Nintendo eShop Sale Continues With 20 Off More Games
30th June, 2012 By Sarah Morris

Nintendo's downloadable store for it's latest 3DS handheld, the eShop, turns one year old this month, having gone on to produce a fair few funky titles over the past twelve months. Whether you fancy some old-school GameBoy Mario platformers from the Virtual Console, creating your own crazy creatures with Freakyforms or a relaxing round of mini-golf, there's pretty much something for everyone. To celebrate the eShop's anniversary, Nintendo have decided to discount ten titles - five last week, and five more this week - and continuing until next Thursday, you'll be able to grab any of the following titles with a 20% discount:

Dillon's Rolling Western

Was: £9.00

Now: £7.20

Set in the wild west, you play as armadillo ranger Dillon as he defends his town from waves of invading rock monsters. By day he needs to collect all manner of resources to build defensive structures like walls or gun towers, but when night falls he needs make use of the structures to do battle with the rock monsters that threaten the village. The 'rolling' part of the title comes from Dillon's unique attack, where he rolls up into a ball and launches himself at his opponents with a flick of the stylus.

Freakyforms: Your Creations, Alive

Was: £5.40

Now: £4.30

Part creation, part exploration and part platformer, Freakyforms puts your imagination to the test - using a huge range of shapes, appendages and accessories you can make a whole host of crazy creatures, before doing for a wonder on a kooky customisable planet inhabited by similarly freaky things. You'll be smashing blocks, eating fruit, opening chests and laying eggs whilst completing quests for the characters - unlocking even more pieces to make even more ambitious animals, vehicles and whatever else you can think of as you go. It's worth remembering, though, that this is going to be seeing a release as a souped-up version on a cartridge, with new features, called Freakyforms Deluxe.

Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH!

Was: £4.50

Now: £3.60

With three times the exclamation marks of last week's discounted golfing game, Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH! lets you take your Mii on a world-wide tour of loop the loops, bumpers and hills that adorn the courses. On top of the 54 holes spanning Europe, Asia and America, there's a variety of Trickshot courses that let you net oodles of coins by bouncing your ball over as much money as you can -  which you can then spend on new courses, flight tickets to new worlds, and better golfing equipment.

Mighty Switch Force

Was: £5.40

Now: £4.30

Stepping into the crime-fighting boots of officer Patricia Wagon, Mighty Switch Force sees you trying to track down the escaped Hooligan Sisters who are hiding around each of the levels - to reach them, you'll need to run, jump and shoot your way through a series of platforming challenges. But Mighty Switch Force has another, more puzzling mechanic, where you can 'switch' blocks between the background, where they're pretty much invisible and you fall straight through them, and the foreground, where you can jump on them to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Was: £3.60

Now: £2.90

Mario's evil rival Wario has captured Mario's castle and placed a mysterious lock on the door, which can only be removed by collecting the six Golden Coins, which have coincidentally been spread around Mario Land - each one guarded by one of Wario's henchmen. Eager to regain access to his own home, Mario trots off through six zones, munching on Power Mushrooms, Super Stars and Fire Flowers as he embarks on his platforming quest to defeat Wario and bring peace back to Mario Land.

All of these games can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop, and can be found in the dedicated anniversary sale section on the front page of the shop. But remember - the offers will only be around for a week, and there's no word from Nintendo as to whether this'll be a one-off promotion or a regular thing, so if you want any of the games, make sure you buy them before the 5th July.
