Although the recent games have been a little bit disappointing, the Sonic series has never really lost its appeal. And now, speeding on to the Nintendo console of your choice comes the newest game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic Colours. Announced back in May, Sonic Colours - a game which sees everyone's favourite blue hedgehog speeding through various theme-park themed worlds is due out on the 12th of November - in plenty of time for Christmas.
In Sonic Colours, Sonic's nemesis Dr. Robotnik has captured several planets, and pulled them together, planning to build a giant, inter-galactic theme park on them. In doing this, he has imprisoned the Wisps, little creatures that previously inhabited the planets, which, once rescued, give Sonic special powers. In Sonic Colours, Sonic must rescue these Wisps, and, as always, put a stop to the evil Dr. Robotnik's plans.
Wholesome fun for both young and old, Sonic Colours looks set to be a major hit when it releases this November. To see a bit more of the game for yourself, and take a gander at two new powers, Drill and Laser (which are powered by the Wisps Sonic collects), along with two new colourful, theme park-inspired worlds, Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain, take a look at the trailer below. Just try not to let the awful theme tune put you off.
