Dancing - it sometimes seems like you can either do it well, or you can't do it at all. While those who were gifted with rhythm and the skills to use it would take the dance floor at every chance they got, those who were less rhythmically inclined (like ourselves) were forced to sit at the sides, lest we embarrassed ourselves in public. At least until Just Dance came along. Letting you dance your heart out in the comfort of your own home, without having to worry about looking like a fool in front of strangers, part of the appeal of the game was that you did look crazy - as you waved your Wii Remote around to copy the dancers on screen, you didn't really care what you looked like, as you, and everyone around you, was having so much fun.
Just Dance 2014, the latest in the series is due for a release in just a few weeks time, and as is always the case, publishers Ubisoft are releasing the track list in a tantalising drip-feed of announcements - so far, we've been promised more than 40 different songs, although only 9 had been confirmed. With the game's launch drawing ever nearer, however, the next batch of tracks have been announced - and it looks like our super-sleuthing was right about Ghostbusters and Feel This Moment being included too!
The full list, as it stands at the moment, is as follows:
- Village People - YMCA
- will.i.am ft Justin Bieber - #thatPOWER
- Mungo Jerry - Summertime
- Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl
- Chris Brown - Fine China
- Ke$ha - C'mon
- Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera - Feel This Moment
- Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
- Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky
- Robin Thicke ft. TI & Pharrell - Blurred Lines
- Wisin & Yandel ft. Jennifer Lopez - Follow The Leader
- David Guetta feat. Sia - She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)
- Far East Movement - Turn Up The Love
- Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
- Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm
- Nicki Minaj - Starships
- Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
- PSY - Gentleman
- Robbie Williams - Candy
- One Direction - Kiss You
But what's that you say? That's not enough? You need more Just Dance songs? Well fear not, because our super sleuthing skills have once again paid dividends! One of the latest batch of screenshots mentions "richgirl" in its file name, with Rich Girl being a recent song by the lovely Gwen Stefani, while another seems to hint that the George Michael classic Careless Whisper may be breathlessly swaying onto the game's track list. We know which song we'll be playing first...
Just Dance 2014 waltzes onto the Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on the 4th October, with the next-generation Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions being available from launch for each. With around 20 songs still to be announced and around three weeks in which to do it, we suspect we'll be hearing a lot more about Just Dance 2014 in the coming weeks - so make sure you keep checking back!
